Talat Uzunoglu born in 1938 in Ankara, began working life in Osmanbey Printing House within Cemberlitas Site while going to İstanbul Gedikpaşa Secondary School in 1945. In 1947, he was working as apprentice out of school time and earning allowance from Veysel craftsman who was his uncle and he started to fall in love his profession at that time. While fighting for his life by making a living by working at printing houses at a young age, he started to learn on the one hand the intricacies of the job… Talat Uzunoglu worked as an apprentice for Greek and Armenian craftsmen and then made sales of old books and fixed books at the Used-Book Bazaar. In 1959, he started to accelerate his business life by establishing his bindery after his military service. Uzunoğlu working with the best craftsmen for years has managed to create a printing culture from generation to generation by transferring it to his sons and grandchildren together with all the details of the profession and has achieved to be one of the most important printers of Turkey who has been brought up under the wings of the Republic of Turkey.
